James is a senior executive with leadership experience across operations, logistics, talent management, and human resilience. He served over 30 years in the United States Air Force and is now the President and Chief Executive Officer for Operation Gratitude, a nonprofit organization. In his current role, James leads a team of professionals and grass-roots volunteers and supporters nation-wide, with the mission to honor the service of our military and first responders by creating opportunities for Americans to express their gratitude. Hundreds of thousands of service members and first responders receive care packages every year from Operation Gratitude volunteers and supporters. James previously served on the Board of Directors for The Flag and General Officer Network, a non-profit veteran corporation of admirals and general officers, dedicated to personal and professional growth and service to the nation. He currently serves as the Vice Chairman for the US Air Force Academy Board of Visitors; and as a committee member for the Department of Defense's Advisory Committee on Diversity and Inclusion .James holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Puget Sound, a Master of Business Administration degree from Saint Martin's College, a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, and a Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
